Immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, General Alex Badeh, was yesterday, ambushed and killed along Abuja-Keffi road.
Although details of how he fell to the hands of men of the underworld are still sketchy, his body and a vandalised vehicle that he was travelling with were recognised by those who knew him.
Some of his security details who escaped by the whiskers, were reported to have narrated the ugly incident to top security agents which prompted the Inspector- General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, to send a crack team of anti-robbery squad to the scene.
Badeh, the Chief of Defence Staff under Goodluck Jonathan was indicted and currently facing trial over an alleged $2.1 billion dollars arms deal allegedly disbursed by former National Security Adviser under Jonathan administration, Alhaji Sambo Dasuki, a retired Army Colonel, still detained.
