...As 12 operatives, each receives financial gifts and awards

By BABATUNDE FOLAKAN, Ota

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), during the Christmas holiday, received accolades, financial gifts and meritorious awards for job well-done from residents in the state.

Demonstrating his gratitude through mobile text message for TRACE's timely intervention to his distress call that would have resulted into only what God knows, while trapped on the road, at an accident scene, one Tunde Oladunjoye writes:

"Thank you our Trace Commander

""I ran into this accident scene along Sagamu Benin Expressway, near Ikenne Junction this afternoon. I asked my driver to park  and we came down. I put a call through to the Commander of TRACE in Ogun State, Prince Seni Ogunyemi, he assured me that his team will be there within five minutes.
"Behold! The TRACE team arrived in less than five minutes!

"The vehicle driven by the elderly woman holding her grandchildren in the pictures experienced brake failure.  We thank God no life was lost, but one man was seriously injured in the lone accident.

Still in appreciation of the seriousness and hardwork of the state traffic agency, a Lagos based company, Volkomen Concepts Ltd, at 1, Oke-Agbe Estate, Ojodu, Lagos honoured 12 TRACE operatives with gift awards in recognition of their hardwork.

Speaking at a colourful award ceremony in Abeokuta, the MD/CEO Volkomen Concepts Ltd, Mr Abimbola Shoremi, expressed his joy at the serious devotion to duty of the TRACE operatives whom he said were on the roads 24 hours day and night.

"I am not a new comer on this road. I know how other civil servants work. I am more than impressed by the serious devotion to duty of these TRACE operatives. They are ubiquitous at every nook and cranny of the road in this state.

"On behalf of my company, though based in Lagos State, we just want to show our appreciation for TRACE to continue the good job with this token gift award for job well-done", he said.

When TheCaveat.info sought reaction of the TRACE Corps Commander, 'Seni Ogunyemi, while appreciating those who demonstrated recognition of TRACE duty, he attributed the success the corps has achieved so far to the state Governor Ibikunle Amosun's effort for "giving us support and enablement which geared us up in action".
