The TRACE Corps Commander/CEO, 'Seni Ogunyemi, has warned motorists in Ogun State to avoid being intoxicated by the festive mood of Christmas and New Year such that can lead them to committing traffic offences.
He gave the warning in a telephone interview with TheCaveat.info on Thursday while reacting to killing of a toddler in front of his father's compound on Boxing Day when a lone vehicle veered off the road and rammed into the building.
According to an eyewitness account, at about 12.35 p.m. a Toyota Previa with
Reg. No:MUS 585 DR suddenly veered off the road and rammed into a shop where some children were playing at Sagamu Township Maro, Akarigbo Road outbound Sagamu.
The vehicle suspected to overspeeding was said to have run over two female and a male Children, immediately killing the male child and leaving others critically injured.
TheCaveat.info gathered that the driver of the vehicle who was alone at the of the incident immediately ran away.
The Sagamu Division of TRACE which confirmed the story said the victims who were seriously injured had already been taken to OOUTH by the Community before arrival of TRACE operatives, adding that the accident vehicle has been towed by the police to their custody.
